The active part of the distribution transformer consists of components used to transform and distribute electrical energy. This part converts the high voltage electrical energy at the input to a lower voltage level and is used to transmit this converted energy to the distribution network.
The active part consists of the core and windings. The core is the part made of iron or other magnetic material that forms the magnetic circuit of the transformer. The windings are the primary (input) and secondary (output) windings of the transformer.
